Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh reviewed the progress of the Matiapada Road Over Bridge (ROB) construction in Puri ahead of the upcoming Rath Yatra.
The state expects lakhs of devotees to visit Puri during the festival. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi directed officials to ensure smooth traffic movement and a pleasant experience for visitors. Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan also instructed departmental officers to expedite all related works.
The Matiapada ROB plays a crucial role in managing entry and exit routes to Puri city. Singh visited the site to assess construction progress and directed officials to complete the remaining works before the festival.
He inspected the location, interacted with engineers, and reviewed the launching of bow-string girders and deck slab casting. He instructed the team to finish the remaining PSC girder span and deck slab casting quickly.
Singh emphasised completing the service road construction and clearing debris to make the area clean, safe, and accessible for public use. He directed senior officials and the executing agency to maintain cleanliness and ensure smooth traffic flow around the ROB.
Chief Engineer (National Highways), Superintending Engineer (NH Division), and other officials accompanied him during the inspection.
