Principal Secretary Smt. Usha Padhee convened a joint review meeting with senior officials of the Commerce & Transport and Housing & Urban Development Departments.

The discussions aimed to align departmental efforts with the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s vision of a Viksit Odisha.

The meeting emphasised the timely disbursement of pensions under various social security schemes, reinforcing the government’s commitment to safeguarding the dignity and welfare of senior citizens and vulnerable communities. Additionally, the review underscored the need for strengthened operations and maintenance (O&M) strategies in urban infrastructure and transport services to ensure sustainability and uninterrupted service delivery.

With a strong focus on technology-driven governance, the session highlighted the role of real-time monitoring and integrated data systems in improving administrative efficiency. Enhanced transparency and data-driven policymaking were identified as crucial tools for optimising service outcomes across sectors.

Smt. Padhee stressed the importance of inter-departmental collaboration and outcome-oriented planning to drive inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development. She reiterated that innovation, institutional capacity-building, and meaningful citizen engagement must remain at the core of Odisha’s forward-looking governance strategy.

“The convergence of goals across departments is essential for building an Odisha that is not just developed, but also equitable and efficient. Our focus remains on systems that deliver with speed, empathy, and accountability,” she stated.

The joint review reaffirmed the government’s dedication to transformative governance that uplifts communities and lays a strong foundation for Odisha’s sustained and inclusive growth.
