Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has returned to the United Kingdom for the first time in five months, sparking speculation about a possible meeting with King Charles during his short visit.
Harry, 40, flew in from California on Monday and headed straight to St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle to lay flowers at the grave of his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, on the third anniversary of her passing.
Media reports suggest the trip could include a private meeting with King Charles, who has been undergoing cancer treatment since early 2024.
However, despite being just a few miles from his brother Prince William, there was no meeting between the siblings, and sources indicate no plans are in place for the two to see each other during this trip.
Harry began his engagements by attending the annual WellChild Awards, a charity event supporting seriously ill children, for which he serves as patron.
During his interactions, Harry joked with one award winner about sibling rivalry, saying with a smile, “You know what – siblings.”
In his speech, he reflected on his long association with the charity:
“So much has happened since those early days – for me, for you and for WellChild. The world has thrown a fair few challenges our way. But through it all, WellChild has remained rock-solid in its mission: to give children and young people with complex medical needs the chance to thrive, not in hospital, but at home, surrounded by family, friends, and community.”
Prince Harry is scheduled to continue his UK visit with other charity events, including a Tuesday visit to a Children in Need project in central England, where he will announce a significant donation.
