On July 25, 2025, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu completed three years in office.
To mark this milestone, President Murmu participated in several important initiatives at Rashtrapati Bhavan and the President’s Estate, which include:
- Divyangjan-Friendly Declaration: The President’s Estate, including Rashtrapati Bhavan, Amrit Udyan, and the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, has been declared divyangjan-friendly following the implementation of a 50-point recommendation by the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities.
- Website Launch in 22 Languages: The official websites of Rashtrapati Bhavan (https://www.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in/ and https://www.presidentofindia.gov.in/) are now available in 22 Indian languages.
- Inauguration of New Facilities: Various facilities for visitors and residents of the President’s Estate were inaugurated. These include the Visitor Facilitation Centre at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Nilayam Nikunj at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Hyderabad, a cafeteria, a souvenir shop, a reception area at Rashtrapati Niwas in Mashobra, and a renovated gym at the President’s Estate.
- E-Upahaar Season 2 Launch: The second season of E-Upahaar was launched to auction over 250 items, with all proceeds going toward initiatives that support the welfare of children. Further details can be found at https://upahaar.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in/.
- E-Book Release: An e-book featuring highlights from the past year of the Presidency has been published. You can access it via the link https://rb.nic.in/ebook25.htm.
- Net Zero Initiative: Initiatives have commenced to make Rashtrapati Bhavan Net Zero by March 2027.
In her remarks during the launch of these initiatives, President Murmu expressed satisfaction that many decisions and actions taken over the past three years have increased citizen engagement with Rashtrapati Bhavan.
She emphasised the importance of connecting all segments of society, particularly the underprivileged and marginalised, with the nation’s development journey.
The President also expressed her happiness over the enhanced accessibility of Rashtrapati Bhavan for divyangjan and voiced confidence in the continuation of new initiatives in the future.
