A disturbing incident has surfaced from Pastikudi in Kalahandi district, where an eight‑month pregnant woman has accused a local pastor of raping her under the pretext of prayer.
According to the complaint filed at Bhawanipatna Sadar police station (Case No. 335/26), the pastor allegedly invited the woman and her husband to his house on August 7, claiming he would pray for her recovery. Once there, he reportedly intoxicated the husband and forcibly assaulted the woman in a separate room.
Police have registered a case and begun an investigation. IIC Chitrasen Pradhani confirmed that the survivor’s medical examination has been conducted and assured that strict action will follow against the accused.
