Cuttack: The owner of a poultry shop at Ragadipada under Badamba police limits in Cuttack district was murdered late last night.
Reportedly, the accused Muna Nayak was working as a butcher in the poultry shop of the deceased Prahlad Mallick at Nuatalia chowk.
While Nayak had recently left the job and worked at another poultry shop, he was yet to receive some of his pending salary from Mallick.
Reportedly, both had several arguments over it in the past and the former was in search of an opportunity to take revenge.
When Mallick was returning home after closing his shop at around 9 PM yesterday, Nayak stabbed him with a knife. Locals rushed Mallick to Badamba Community Health Centre (CHC) where the doctor declared him dead.
The accused is currently absconding.
