Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-anticipated visit to Odisha on September 27, 2025, has been relocated from Berhampur to Jharsuguda due to the India Meteorological Department’s forecast of heavy rainfall in coastal districts like Ganjam.

The PM will now address a massive public gathering at the Amulipali Reserve Ground, where preparations are underway for the national-level ‘Seva Parv’ celebrations.

The original venue at Berhampur’s Rangailunda airstrip had already seen extensive logistical planning, including security reviews by DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania and senior officials. However, tents and infrastructure were dismantled following the weather alert.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari confirmed that the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has been approached for final approval of the venue change. Jharsuguda was selected for its relatively safer weather conditions and logistical feasibility.

During the visit, PM Modi is expected to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for key infrastructure projects across Odisha and other states. He will also launch the All India Youth Conference, with expectations of a major announcement for the youth community.

The shift in venue has prompted a fresh round of coordination among district officials, SPG teams, and BJP leadership to ensure flawless execution of the event.
