Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Banaras–Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express on November 7, ushering in a new era of high-speed rail connectivity across the Bundelkhand region.
The train will pass through key stations including Banda, Mahoba, Chitrakoot Dham, and Prayagraj, offering passengers a faster and more comfortable journey.
The new service will operate six days a week, with Thursday reserved for maintenance. Train No. 26422 will depart Banaras at 5:25 AM and reach Khajuraho by 1:10 PM. On its return, Train No. 26421 will leave Khajuraho at 3:20 PM and arrive in Banaras at 11 PM.
This launch marks a major leap in regional connectivity. Until now, Bundelkhand had limited access to major cities. The Vande Bharat Express promises world-class travel comfort and reduced travel time, making the five-hour journey a reality.
Officials believe the route will significantly boost tourism in spiritual and historical towns like Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Khajuraho, and Banaras. Manoj Kumar Shivhare, Station Manager of Banda, called it a proud moment for the region, noting that preparations are underway for the inauguration.
The train’s introduction follows the Bundelkhand Expressway, gifted by PM Modi in 2022. Residents have welcomed the move, thanking the Central government for prioritizing development in Bundelkhand.
This new Vande Bharat Express is more than a train—it’s a symbol of progress, connectivity, and cultural revival.
