Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon arriving in Varanasi, was immediately briefed on the recent heinous rape incident that has shocked the city.
Top administrative officials, including the Police Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner, and District Magistrate, presented a detailed report on the case.
Expressing deep concern over the incident, the Prime Minister directed the authorities to ensure the strictest possible action against the perpetrators. He emphasized that justice must be delivered swiftly and decisively.
In addition to punitive measures, PM Modi urged local administration to strengthen safety protocols and implement preventive strategies to safeguard women and ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future.
The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s zero-tolerance policy on crimes against women and stressed the need for immediate, visible action to reassure the public and restore a sense of security in the city.
