Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the highly anticipated ‘Semicon India 2025’ at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, marking a pivotal moment in India’s journey to becoming a global semiconductor powerhouse.
The event, aimed at accelerating India’s semiconductor ecosystem, drew participation from CEOs, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and students from across the globe.
Fresh from his diplomatic visit to Japan and China, PM Modi shared insights from his tour, including a visit to Tokyo Electron’s factory alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. He highlighted the presence of the company’s CEO at the event, underscoring the growing international collaboration in India’s tech ambitions.
Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister passionately declared, “Chips are digital diamonds,” and emphasized the need to reduce bureaucratic hurdles with the phrase, “The lesser the paperwork, the sooner the wafer work can begin.” He envisioned a future where India’s smallest chip would spark the world’s biggest transformation.
With representatives from over 40 countries in attendance, PM Modi affirmed that the world now trusts and believes in India’s capabilities. He concluded with a powerful statement: “The day is not far when the world will say – Designed in India, Made in India, Trusted by the World.”
