PM Modi’s Statement Ahead of Visit
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi wrote:
“Will be in Jharsuguda, Odisha, to inaugurate developmental works worth over Rs 50,000 crore. In a historic feat, over 97,500 telecom towers across India would be commissioned. These will boost connectivity in remote areas, border regions, and Maoist-affected zones. These works are in line with our vision of a Viksit Bharat where the poor and downtrodden get access to all-round development.”
Weather & Security
The event was shifted from Berhampur to Jharsuguda due to forecasted heavy rainfall in southern Odisha. The IMD has predicted thunderstorms and gusty winds in Jharsuguda as well, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures.
Security has been significantly tightened, with the Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari personally monitoring arrangements.
