In a significant telephone conversation, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, reviewed the robust progress in India-France bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The leaders expressed satisfaction with advancements in key sectors such as economic collaboration, defence, science, technology, and space. They reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the India-France Strategic Partnership, guided by the Horizon 2047 Roadmap, the Indo-Pacific Roadmap, and the Defence Industrial Roadmap. This conversation underscored the shared vision of both nations to foster innovation and collaboration on a global scale.
A key focus of the discussion was the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s firm stance on supporting a peaceful resolution and restoring stability in the region. Both leaders emphasised the importance of diplomatic efforts to address global challenges and promote peace.
Prime Minister Modi extended a warm invitation to President Macron for the AI Impact Summit, scheduled to be hosted by India in February 2026. President Macron graciously accepted, signalling further strengthening of ties through collaboration in cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence. The leaders agreed to maintain close contact to advance their shared goals of global peace and stability.
