Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal will embark on an official visit to Berlin, Germany, starting October 23, 2025, to strengthen India’s economic and trade partnership with Europe.
The visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of the India–Germany Strategic Partnership, underscoring the enduring strength of bilateral relations. Minister Goyal will engage in high-level meetings with German and Luxembourg officials, including Ms. Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs & Energy, and Dr. Levin Holle, Germany’s G7 & G20 Sherpa. He will also meet Mr. Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg, to discuss trade relations and upcoming diplomatic engagements.
As part of the Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD), Minister Goyal will speak in the “Leaders’ Dialogue” session focused on global trade alliances and sustainable growth. The summit gathers leaders from business, government, and academia to shape the future of international commerce.
The visit includes one-on-one meetings with CEOs of top German firms such as Schaeffler Group, Infineon Technologies AG, and Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Minister Goyal will also lead a roundtable with Mittelstand company leaders and representatives from the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the Asia-Pacific Association of German Business (APA).
This strategic outreach aims to deepen business-to-business linkages, promote investment, and foster collaboration in sustainability, innovation, and advanced manufacturing. The visit reflects India’s commitment to building resilient and future-ready economic partnerships with its European allies.
