Former MLA Bikram Panda, accused in the sensational lawyer Pitabas Panda murder case, has approached the Orissa High Court to seek bail.
Earlier, the Berhampur Third Additional Sessions Judge Court rejected his bail plea, and therefore, he moved to the higher court.
According to reports, Panda filed his application soon after the dismissal of his request at the lower court. Consequently, the case has attracted widespread attention across Odisha, and legal circles as well as the public continue to react strongly.
Meanwhile, police continue their investigation into the murder and maintain a close watch on developments. Furthermore, the High Court is expected to hear the matter in the coming days, which adds another dimension to the ongoing controversy.
