With thousands of devotees thronging the holy city of Puri for the divine darshan of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, a massive inflow of vehicles since early morning has prompted the Odisha Police to issue an urgent advisory via the social media platform ‘X’.
Cautioning pilgrims and visitors, the police stated, “Due to the unprecedented volume of vehicles headed toward Puri today, commuters may experience delays of two hours or more.” This proactive communication is part of the state’s effort to manage crowd flow and ensure public convenience.
The advisory further requested, “Those planning a trip to Puri are kindly urged to take this traffic situation into consideration and arrange their journey accordingly.” With the pilgrimage season underway, Odisha Police has been maintaining strict surveillance and traffic control mechanisms across key entry points to Puri.
Today (29.06.2025) since early morning there is very heavy inflow of vehicles towards Puri. Citizens may face waiting time of more than 2 hours. This may be considered while planning to come towards Puri. @CMO_Odisha
