Two individuals were killed after a pick-up van hit their bikes near Deokupuli Chhak under Muniguda police limits in Rayagada district.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
According to sources, the pickup van lost control after hitting the bikes and rammed into a roadside tree. The driver sustained serious injuries and was immediately admitted to Muniguda Community Health Centre for treatment.
A five-year-old girl, who was riding pillion on one of the bikes, narrowly escaped with minor injuries.
Upon receiving information, Muniguda police reached the spot, recovered the bodies, and shifted the injured driver to the hospital. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
