Bhubaneswar: An elderly man was killed after he was run over by a truck on the National Highway no. 16 in Palasuni area in Bhubaneswar.
The deceased has been identified as Judhistir Sahu (75).
As per reports, Judhistir was crossing the road to visit lord Shiva temple on the opposite side. At that time, a speeding truck ran over him. As a result, he died on the spot.
On intimation, the Mancheswar police reached the scene and sent the body to the Capital hospital for post-mortem. The driver of the truck has been detained.
It is worth mentioning that, often these types of incidents occur in this area. But no steps have been taken yet by the administration to stop the road mishaps.
