Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh has issued an apology to his co-star Anjali Raghav after she publicly announced she was quitting the Bhojpuri film industry. The decision came after an incident at a recent event in Lucknow, where she claims he repeatedly touched her waist without her consent, despite her visible discomfort.
In an emotional video posted to Instagram, Raghav detailed the incident, expressing her distress and frustration. She explained that Singh repeatedly touched her waist, claiming something was stuck there. Her team later confirmed nothing was on her clothing, leaving her feeling “very bad, angry, and even like crying.”
Raghav stated that she felt helpless at the event because the crowd was overwhelmingly his fan base, treating him “like God.” She stressed her firm stance against unwanted touching and expressed disappointment that the public did not intervene. She then announced her decision to quit the Bhojpuri industry, saying, “I will no longer work in the Bhojpuri industry.”
Pawan Singh responded via his Instagram Stories, apologizing for his behavior. He claimed he was unaware of her live video due to his “busy schedule” and that he had no “wrong intention” as they are both artists. He wrote, “Even then, if you were hurt by my behavior, then I apologize.”
This incident is not the only recent controversy for Singh. His second wife, Jyoti Singh, also accused him of neglect and threatened self-immolation in a separate Instagram post, claiming he had disrespected her and her parents.
