Bhubaneswar’s popular open-street festival, Patha Utsav, is set to make a vibrant comeback from the last week of December. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has already started preparations to host the beloved event across three designated stretches—one in each zone of the city.
BMC Commissioner Chanchal Rana confirmed that the festival will begin in the final week of December and continue through the first half of January. As in previous years, Patha Utsav will take place every Sunday from 7 am to 10 am, transforming selected streets into community spaces filled with creativity and fun.
What Residents Can Expect
Visitors will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities, including:
-
Dance and music performances
-
Painting and art displays
-
Skating sessions
-
Fitness and recreational activities
-
Family-friendly engagement zones
These activities are designed to encourage community participation, promote wellness, and create an inclusive public space for people of all ages.
BMC’s Vision for This Year’s Edition
Commissioner Rana said, “We plan to hold the event at the end of December and during the first half of January. Like every year, we aim to organise Patha Utsav in a unique and engaging way. Our goal is to make it a regular event on the last Sunday of December and the first two Sundays of January. It will be held separately in all three zones.”
The city administration hopes the event will strengthen community bonds while promoting art, culture, and healthy outdoor activities.
