Despite the winter chill, enthusiasm filled the air as Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) hosted the year’s second Patha Utsav at Jagamara New Road.
Beginning at 6 am, the vibrant street festival transformed the stretch into a lively cultural hub, drawing thousands of residents who enjoyed dance, music, games, and entertainment.
Earlier, the first Patha Utsav took place on January 4 at Janpath. Today’s celebration at Baramunda–Jagamara New Road showcased colourful rangoli along both sides of the street. Odissi performances captivated audiences on the main stage, while contemporary dance and DJ music energised the youth at another platform.
Moreover, the festival featured yoga sessions, skating displays, street plays, and traditional dance programs. Children participated in drawing competitions and enjoyed dedicated play zones. Scenes of kids creating rangoli on the road added charm, while skating performances earned loud applause from spectators.
Families welcomed the initiative, noting that Patha Utsav promotes healthy lifestyles and provides a platform for local talent. They emphasised that such events strengthen social bonds and turn city streets into vibrant community spaces.
Additionally, organisers highlighted that Patha Utsav not only celebrates Odisha’s cultural heritage but also fosters unity and cooperation among citizens. By bringing people together, the festival enhances Bhubaneswar’s image as a smart city and cultural destination.
