In the Paris Olympics 2024, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are set to compete for the tennis men’s singles gold medal following their decisive semifinal wins on Friday.
At 37, Djokovic is the oldest finalist in a Summer Games, while Alcaraz, at 21, is the youngest.
Djokovic overcame Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti with a 6-4, 6-2 victory, marking his first Olympic final appearance after previously being 0-3 in the Summer Games semifinals.
Alcaraz’s performance was even more commanding, securing a 6-1, 6-1 win against Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime.
The upcoming final is a rematch of the last two Wimbledon championships, both claimed by Alcaraz, including the victory three weeks prior. Alcaraz holds four Grand Slam titles to Djokovic’s 24.
