Hazira/Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has flagged off equipment for Indian Oil’s MEG Plant at Paradip port from Hazira on Monday.
These critical equipment are necessary for the commissioning of MEG project in Paradip port. Pradhan said with the commissioning of MEG plant the neighbouring states of Odisha will get the benefit without any hassle.
The Union Minister said this project at Paradip port will be a step forward for Atmanirbhar Bharat coined by the Prime Minister for ushering in the culture of self-reliant India.
Pradhan said the MEG plant will be helpful for the proposed textile parks in Dhamra and Bhadrak. He said Odisha has no dearth of talent in the textile sector. The Union Minister said nearly five lakh people from Odisha are working in Gujarat in the textile sector and added that they can be roped in for the job if textile parks in Bhadrak and Dhamra become operational.
Pradhan said Bhadrak textile unit will provide employment opportunities for 2000 persons. The Dhamra unit is an ambitious one and promises to offer nearly 20000 jobs once it is functional.
The programme was attended by IOCL’s Chairman S M Vaidya, L&T’s CEO and MD S N Subramaniam, L&T’s S Sharma and senior officials.
