OSRTC Bus Overturns in Sundargarh, Injuring Multiple Passengers

In the early hours of February 22, 2025, an Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus en route from Sundargarh to Puri overturned near Muchuranali village under Lahunipara police jurisdiction in Sundargarh district.


The incident occurred around 12:30 AM when the driver lost control, causing the bus to collide with a 33 KV electric pole before overturning.

Approximately 12 passengers sustained injuries, with one woman critically injured due to electrocution; she has been transferred to a Rourkela hospital for advanced treatment.

The bus was carrying over 50 passengers at the time of the accident. Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the mishap.
