Bolangir: A man was killed while two others including a woman sustained critical injuries after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Mahanga square under Saintala police station limits in the district.
The deceased person has been identified as Jhasketan Sahu of Sarabahali village in Kalahandi district.
Reportedly, the incident took place at around 7 pm while the trio was returning to their village. Suddenly, a speeding truck hit their bike and fled. Due to the impact of the accident, Jhasketan died on the spot while two others including a woman were critical.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and rescued the injured persons to Saintala Hospital.
A case of unnatural death has been registered in this connection, further investigation is underway in this regard, police said.
