Koraput: Police have arrested a person with the seizure of a huge cache of ganja from him in Padwa area of Koraput district. The accused has been identified as Benjing Mohan of Andhra Pradesh.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted an auto-rickshaw in Padwa. Upon searching, they found around 50 kg of ganja and seized them.
The estimated value of the seized contraband is Rs 5 lakh, police informed.
According to preliminary investigation, it is learnt that the contraband was being smuggled from Jalaput village of Koraput district to Andhra Pradesh.
Following this, a case has been registered and further investigation is underway to trace the accused involved in the illegal trade.
