Bhubaneswar: Odisha is set to witness contrasting weather conditions over the coming days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
While coastal districts brace for thunderstorms and rainfall, western Odisha will experience scorching temperatures soaring up to 41°C.
IMD has issued a yellow warning for districts including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Balasore, expecting light to moderate rainfall. Meanwhile, regions such as Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, and Balangir will endure intense heatwave conditions.
The monsoon outlook predicts normal rainfall across Odisha, with heavy showers expected in June. Coastal and northern Odisha might see slightly less rainfall in July and August, while southern Odisha is expected to receive substantial rain in September.
A key factor influencing the monsoon is the reduced snow cover in the Eurasian region, which experts say could contribute to better-than-normal monsoon rainfall.
