Modern training infrastructure in Odisha is proving to be a game-changer for the state’s youth, helping them unlock high-paying global employment opportunities.
In a significant endorsement of local talent, a visiting Japanese delegation alongside recruitment partner ‘Navis HR’ showered rich praise on the Institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR) for its world-class facilities and top-tier training standards. The team highlighted that Odisha’s drivers stand out abroad for their strong professional discipline, technical skill, and reliability.
Guided by state Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, the initiative aims to continuously upgrade local youth skills and position them for lucrative careers on the international stage.
The efforts are already yielding tangible results. Twelve drivers trained at IDTR are currently employed in Japan with attractive salary packages, comprehensive benefits, and excellent prospects for long-term career stability. Another batch of 33 skilled candidates is presently undergoing Japanese language proficiency and cultural orientation training in Bengaluru via Navis HR, preparing for their imminent move to Japan. Japanese representatives noted that demand for Odisha’s disciplined drivers is steadily rising across overseas markets.
To build on this momentum, a dedicated ‘Driver Career Opportunity Program’ was jointly organised by IDTR Chhatia and Navis HR. The interactive seminar allowed aspiring drivers to directly engage with Japanese transport operators, offering first-hand insights into foreign working environments, language requirements, and quality-of-life standards in Japan.
Beyond international placements, the Odisha government is actively utilising all four IDTR centres across the state to host regular employment fairs, ensuring local youth also secure high-paying positions within major domestic companies.
