Odisha’s Bikash Chandra Patnaik has earned the honour of representing India at the upcoming World Mini Golf Championship, scheduled to be held in Neheim-Hüsten, Germany, from August 16 to 23.
Patnaik, a seasoned athlete and mini golf promoter, has been officially nominated to join the Indian contingent for the global tournament. Over the past eight years, he has played a pivotal role in popularising mini golf across Odisha, while also securing multiple accolades at the national level.
His achievements include:
- 🥇 Gold medal at the 37th National Games held in Goa (2023)
- 🥈 Silver at the National Championship in Nagpur (2024)
- 🥇 Gold again in 2025, along with two golds and one silver in the Odisha State Mini Golf Championship
Beyond mini golf, Bikash has demonstrated excellence in other sports such as gateball, soft tennis, woodball, and flying disc. As a certified coach, he continues to inspire young athletes across the state.
Speaking on his selection, Bikash said, “It’s a matter of pride to be part of the national team. I will give my best to win medals for both my country and my state.”
His journey reflects Odisha’s growing presence in niche sports and highlights the state’s commitment to nurturing versatile talent.
