India’s first sibling badminton pair from Odisha, Rituparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda, met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan today ahead of their international debut at the Paris World Badminton Championship.
The championship, scheduled from August 25 to 31, will witness the Panda sisters representing India in a historic moment for Odisha’s sporting legacy. During the meeting, the Chief Minister congratulated the duo for their selection and offered his blessings, expressing confidence in their performance on the global stage.
“This is a proud moment for Odisha. Rituparna and Swetaparna have not only made the state proud but are also inspiring countless young athletes,” said CM Majhi.
The sisters, known for their synchronised gameplay and relentless training, thanked the Chief Minister for his encouragement and assured that they would give their best in Paris.
Their participation marks a significant milestone in Indian badminton, especially for sibling athletes breaking new ground in international competitions.
