Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Susil Kumar Panda, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Ganjam Block, for accumulating assets grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Based on extensive raids across multiple locations, Vigilance officials uncovered a staggering list of assets: one multi-storeyed building, two flats, six high-value plots, 126 grams of gold ornaments, Rs 2.05 lakh in hard cash, and bank and insurance deposits worth approximately Rs 1 crore.
According to officials, Panda failed to account for the sources of this wealth, triggering his arrest under the Berhampur Vigilance PS Case No. 9/2025.
He is scheduled to be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, in Berhampur later today. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of disproportionate assets.
The arrest highlights Vigilance’s intensified campaign against public servant corruption across the state.
