Odisha Vigilance has intensified its crackdown on corruption, arresting 310 government officials and employees over the past five years for disproportionate assets and financial irregularities.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi shared the figures in a written reply to questions raised by legislators Ranendra Pratap Swain and Amar Nayak in the Assembly. He confirmed that 22 officials faced property confiscation orders, with assets worth Rs 40.84 crore seized.
Between January 2023 and December 2025, Vigilance registered 683 corruption cases, of which 337 cases resulted in convictions. The government confiscated the properties of six corrupt officials and deposited Rs 32.50 lakh into the state treasury.
Officials said Vigilance has adopted an “action mode” approach, targeting corruption at every level of administration. The crackdown reflects the government’s commitment to accountability and transparency.
