The Odisha Transport Department has announced a new measure to strengthen vehicle pollution control across the state.
Starting January 10, all vehicles with valid Pollution Under Control Certificates (PUCC) will receive a Green Sticker.
What is the Green Sticker?
The Green Sticker will be a circular green label featuring the Odisha Transport Department logo, the words PUCC – Pollution Under Control, the vehicle registration number, validity date, and the name of the authorised testing centre. It will replace the existing PUCC sticker and make it easier to verify whether a vehicle meets pollution standards.
How to Get the Sticker
- Before January 10: Vehicle owners can collect the Green Sticker from their nearest RTO office.
- After January 10: Stickers will be issued directly at PUCC testing centres. Special counters will be opened at all RTOs to facilitate distribution.
Required Documents
To obtain the sticker, vehicle owners must present:
- Original valid PUCC certificate
- Copy of Registration Certificate (RC)
- Owner’s ID proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.)
- An authorisation letter if collected by someone other than the owner
Officials confirmed that strict verification will be carried out by matching details with the vehicle database.
Enforcement and Fuel Supply
The Transport Department stated that the new rule will make pollution control more effective. Petrol pumps may also check Green Stickers before supplying fuel under the proposed #NoPUCNoFuel initiative.
Strengthening Safety and Environment
Authorities believe the measure will enhance environmental protection and road safety across Odisha. Vehicle owners have been urged to renew their PUCC certificates in time and collect the Green Sticker to avoid inconvenience.
