Odisha will soon roll out the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), with Keonjhar district chosen for the pilot project.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed officials to initiate immediate steps for its implementation.
Under the mission, residents can link their Aadhaar cards to receive new Ayushman digital health cards. These cards will store citizens’ digital health records, making medical services easier and faster to access. Beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme will gain additional advantages through this digital upgrade.
Alongside ABDM, the state government will strengthen healthcare services by introducing DNB (Diplomate of National Board) postgraduate medical courses in district headquarters hospitals. This move aims to address the shortage of specialist doctors in rural areas and ensure advanced healthcare facilities for the general public.
Following the Chief Minister’s directive, the Health Department has prepared to act swiftly. Officials believe this initiative will mark a new chapter in Odisha’s healthcare sector, combining digital innovation with improved medical education and infrastructure.
