Odisha Police is set to organize the 70th Police Duty Meet from October 16 to 19 at the Reserve Police Ground in Buxi Bazaar, Cuttack.
The Crime Branch is overseeing the event, which aims to enhance professional skills and modern crime-fighting capabilities.
A total of 276 police personnel, 43 sniffer dogs, and 43 handlers from 34 police districts and units will participate. The meet will feature competitions in forensic science, crime scene investigation, cybercrime detection, fingerprint analysis, photography, videography, anti-sabotage drills, medico-legal procedures, and police dog demonstrations.
Events will be held across three venues: Biju Patnaik State Police Academy in Bhubaneswar, OSAP 6th Battalion in Cuttack, and the Reserve Police Ground. Participants will undergo both practical and written evaluations, with top performers selected for the All India Police Duty Meet in Maharashtra this November.
Senior experts from various departments will conduct the assessments. Teams will include Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and Constables, ensuring representation across ranks.
The meet plays a vital role in boosting police efficiency, confidence, and public trust. It also strengthens Odisha’s preparedness in crime control and case resolution through advanced training and inter-departmental collaboration.
