Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre here on Tuesday informed that Odisha is likely to experience below-normal rainfall activity during this monsoon season.
According to the IMD senior official, most of the places in Odisha will receive normal rainfall and above normal at a few places. However, some places especially central and north Odisha may receive below normal rainfall.
Monsoon is usually expected to reach Odisha between June 12 and 15.
The country receives over 70 per cent rainfall during June to September, which is vital for the kharif season and overall agriculture-based activity.
