Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday announced summer vacation for higher educational institutions from May 5 to May 31.
This has been informed by the Higher Education Principal Secretary Saswat Mishra.
The higher education department declared the vacation for degree colleges that come under the jurisdiction of the department.
The orders will be effective on both government and private higher educational institutions.
A letter regarding the same has been issued to the Vice-Chancellors of all state public universities and Principals of all Government and non-Government colleges across the state.
Further, orders barring online classes and exams during this period have been issued.
“All educational institutions coming under the administrative control of the Higher Education Department shall have summer vacation from May 5 to May 31. Standard vacation arrangements should be put in place for functioning of the institutions during the vacation, including COVID-19 related lockdown/shutdown period falling within the summer vacation,” the letter reads.
However, pre-scheduled viva-voce/interview of PhD and other research scholars, falling within summer vacation period, will be held on the scheduled dates.
