The father of a second-year medical student from Odisha, who was allegedly gang-raped near a private medical college in Durgapur, has accused the authorities of inaction and lack of support.

Father Alleges Negligence and Threat to Life
Speaking to reporters, the victim’s father claimed that he was not receiving any cooperation from the hospital authorities.
He further alleged that the West Bengal government has remained silent on the issue despite the serious nature of the crime.
“I am not getting any help from the hospital authorities. There is even a threat to my life. If this had happened in Odisha, immediate action would have been taken,” he said.
The father also alleged that efforts are being made to divert attention from the case and that he is struggling to get updates on his daughter’s condition.

According to sources, the student, who hails from Jaleswar in Balasore district, Odisha, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Durgapur.
Her condition remains critical, and medical teams are monitoring her closely.
