Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has identified 258 vehicle owners who repeatedly violated traffic rules and failed to pay fines.
The department formally requested the State Transport Authority (STA), Odisha, Cuttack to cancel the Registration Certificates (RCs) and Fitness Certificates of these vehicles.
STA Odisha responded by instructing all Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) to blacklist the identified vehicles. The directive emphasizes action against those with repeated violations and aims to enforce stricter road safety compliance.
Officials will initiate cancellation procedures for RCs and fitness certificates to deter habitual offenders. The move marks the first phase of a broader crackdown on traffic rule violators across the region.
The police and transport authorities aim to improve public safety and discipline on the roads. By targeting persistent offenders, they hope to reduce accidents and promote responsible driving behavior.
The traffic rule violators Odisha campaign reflects a coordinated effort between law enforcement and transport departments. Citizens are urged to follow traffic regulations and clear pending fines to avoid penalties.
This enforcement drive signals a strong message to vehicle owners: repeated violations will lead to serious consequences. Authorities plan to continue monitoring and expanding the crackdown in future phases.
