With the commencement of the Academic Year 2025-26 on April 1, the state government has announced a state-wide campaign, “Pravesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuan,” set to be celebrated in all schools on April 2, 2025.
This initiative aims to engage parents, elected representatives, senior officials, and civil society members in promoting education.
The School and Mass Education Department, led by Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shalini Pandit, issued a notification to all District Collectors and Magistrates outlining the details of the campaign. According to the notification, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will distribute ‘Nimantrana Patra’ (invitation cards) at the state level from March 17 to March 19 to families of children enrolling in ‘Shishu Vatika’ and Class-I.
District administrations have been tasked with listing students who will enter Shishu Vatika and Class-1 in each elementary school’s catchment area and printing the required number of invitation cards. Additionally, they will coordinate with DEOs, BEOs, and other stakeholders to organize district-level Pravesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuan celebrations in selected schools and all schools in the district on April 2, 2025. Public representatives, government officers, and eminent members of society will be invited as guests to cover schools during the celebrations.
The campaign will also feature school-level programs exclusively involving teachers and students from April 3 to April 5, 2025. These efforts are part of the state’s broader initiative to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, effective January 2025, with the adoption of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) with localized adaptations.
The Pravesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuan campaign reflects the state’s commitment to enhancing community participation in education and ensuring a vibrant start to the new academic year.
