The Odisha Congress has issued a virtual “gag” order to its leaders, instructing them to refrain from making unauthorized public statements.
Bhakta Charan Das, the newly appointed president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), has directed party leaders to align their public comments with the party’s official stance.
Das emphasized the importance of consulting either the OPCC president or the party’s media cell chief before making any statements to the media or on social media platforms.
He highlighted that some Congress leaders in Odisha have been sharing personal opinions publicly, which has negatively affected the party’s reputation in the state. He stressed the need for a unified and coherent message to maintain the party’s integrity and public image.
The directive aims to ensure that all leaders follow the party line and contribute to building and strengthening the party’s image.
