The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) directed all districts to complete the distribution of free school uniforms for Shishu Vatika students by February 15.

Smt. Sangita Behera, Additional Director (General), issued detailed guidelines to all District Education Officers (DEO-cum-DPC, SS). The directive confirmed that each student will receive uniforms worth Rs 1,000, already released to districts through official sanction.

OSEPA clarified that uniforms for Shishu Vatika students must strictly follow the standards prescribed for Class I students. The package includes two sets of clothes, shoes, T-shirts, track pants, and caps. Authorities emphasised that the colour, quality, logo, and specifications must match the norms applicable to Classes I to VIII.

The distribution will take place through selected Self Help Groups (SHGs), Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), and School Management Committees (SMCs), approved by the District Level Committee chaired by the Collector. No fresh tender or Expression of Interest is required for the current academic year.

Officials highlighted that the initiative aims to ensure equality among young learners and strengthen early childhood education. The directive instructed DEOs to personally monitor the process and guarantee strict compliance.

OSEPA stressed that the matter is of high priority and urged immediate action. The government expects the scheme to benefit thousands of Shishu Vatika students across Odisha, reinforcing its commitment to student welfare and inclusive education.
