A 17-year-old labourer, Raghu Majhi, from Kendupet village in Malijubang Panchayat, Kalahandi district, died under tragic circumstances in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
Raghu traveled to Visakhapatnam on February 2, 2025, to work at Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City under the Anakapalli police station, along with other children from his village.
Raghu experienced dizziness and vomiting while at work and returned to his room at 10 pm. However, his condition worsened, and he was taken to Anakapalli Government NTR Hospital at 4 am, where he was declared dead by doctors. The news left Raghu’s family devastated.
Unable to afford the costs of bringing his body back, Raghu’s father, San Majhi, filed a complaint at the Bijepur police station, demanding compensation from the company. He also requested the District Labour Officer for immediate assistance in the matter.
