New Delhi: ‘Odisha Mandap’ won the Silver Medal at the ‘43rd India International Trade Fair 2024’ held at Bharat Mandap, New Delhi.
‘Odisha Mandap’ has won this award for the best performance in this huge trade fair. Shri Vishal Gagan, Odisha’s Resident Commissioner in New Delhi, received this award on behalf of the Odisha Government.
Shri Santosh Kumar Das, Additional Director, Information and Public Relations Department, Shri Ashwini Kumar Bhoi, Director, ‘Odisha Mandap’, Shri Deepak Kumar Sahu, Exhibition Officer, were present while receiving the award from Shri Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organization.
The ‘India International Trade Fair’, which began on November 14, ended on the 27th. This year, Odisha has won an award at the India International Trade Fair for the third time in a row.
The ‘Odisha Mandap’ was designed this year with the theme ‘Bikashita Bharata, Bikashita Odisha’. Here, the journey of modern science and craftsmanship of India was reflected along with the ancient monuments of the state.
The Mukteswar gate, which is the main feature of Odisha temple architecture, the replica of Konark temple, the Buddhist monuments of Ratnagiri, along the modern bullet train and pictures of industrial progress, made the Odisha Mandap more attractive.
This year, a total of 25 stalls were set up by various departments in the Odisha Mandap, prepared under the supervision of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Odisha Government. Over 5 lakh people visited the Odisha pavilion in the last 14 days, and a turnover of over Rs 55 lakh was made at the pavilion. A large number of businessmen from home and abroad were attracted by the goods and products made by the artisans of Odisha and held business talks with them.
