Two senior Odisha-cadre IPS officers, Rajesh Kumar (1998 batch) and Anup Kumar Sahoo (2006 batch), have been empanelled for Inspector General (IG) or equivalent positions at the Centre.
This move is expected to bolster national law enforcement efforts with their extensive experience.
Currently serving as Additional DG, SAP, Rajesh Kumar has played a crucial role in strengthening special armed police forces, while Anup Kumar Sahoo, posted as IGP Training, BPSPA, has been instrumental in shaping police training methodologies. Their induction into central roles reflects the growing prominence of Odisha-cadre officers in national policing frameworks.
Officials suggest that their expertise in law enforcement strategies and operational management will contribute significantly to central security administration. The deputation process is expected to be finalised soon.
