Odisha Chief Electoral Officer released a press note today highlighting the successful completion of the enumeration phase in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

BLOs visited every household multiple times to distribute and collect enumeration forms from May 30 to June 28. They covered all 30 districts with support from 4,540 supervisors and 45,250 BLOs at polling stations. Voters filled and returned forms in large numbers. Officials recorded 3,13,87,034 submissions from a total of 3,33,99,591 electors.

Recognised political parties took an active part in the drive. They appointed 84,594 Booth Level Agents who assisted in verification work. These agents checked details for voters who moved to other places or lacked proper documents. Special camps helped include eligible voters from remote and difficult areas. Training programs equipped BLOs with skills for accurate form mapping. Video tutorials supported consistent data collection. A special team at the CEO office tracked and resolved problems arising during the exercise.

Every AERO office maintained systems for timely digitisation of collected forms. Authorities published the draft electoral roll on July 5. The document lists names after thorough checks. Voters now verify their inclusion status easily. They access the list through their local BLO or online platforms, including the ECINET mobile app and official websites.

The claims and objections phase runs from July 5 to August 4. Eligible persons submit applications using prescribed forms to add names, correct entries, or raise objections against ineligible names. EROs and AEROs handle these cases with full documentation. They issue speaking orders before any deletion. District Collectors and the CEO serve as appellate authorities for dissatisfied voters.

The process ensures complete transparency and fairness. Officials conducted the Special Intensive Revision in Odisha with participation from all stakeholders. They aim to prepare accurate and updated voter lists for future elections. Youth who attained 18 years of age by July 1 get special encouragement to enrol through Form 6 along with a declaration.
