Odisha farmers will earn ₹3,169 per quintal for paddy this Kharif season as the state government boosts support through a ₹69 MSP hike and an ₹800 input subsidy.
The Central Government fixed the Minimum Support Price at ₹2,369 per quintal for the 2025–26 Kharif Marketing Season. Building on this, Odisha added an ₹800 subsidy to offset rising input costs and ensure fair returns. As a result, the total procurement price now stands at ₹3,169 per quintal.
Grade ‘A’ paddy will fetch ₹3,189 per quintal, offering even greater value to farmers producing premium varieties. The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department confirmed the revised rates through an official notification.
This initiative will benefit lakhs of farmers across Odisha, particularly in districts like Bargarh, Kalahandi, and Balasore where paddy cultivation dominates. By increasing the MSP and offering direct financial support, the government reinforces its commitment to agricultural growth and rural prosperity.
Procurement agencies will begin purchasing paddy at the new rates once the harvest starts. Farmers must complete registration and submit necessary documents to access the benefits. The revised MSP and subsidy will ease financial pressure and encourage higher production during the season.
Odisha’s proactive measures reflect a strategic approach to strengthening the agricultural economy and empowering its farming communities.
