The Odisha Higher Education Department has announced an extension of the undergraduate admission deadline due to the delay in the publication of Plus II results.
Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj confirmed that the admission process for UG courses will continue until the second phase results are declared.
Under the revised guidelines, students will have 10 additional days after the announcement of results to upload their marksheets. This move aims to ensure that no eligible student misses the opportunity to enrol in higher education due to administrative delays.
The extension applies to all (+3) Degree Higher Education Institutions, including self-financing colleges and Sanskrit colleges under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS). The government has also introduced 11.25% reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC), requiring students to obtain a valid SEBC certificate for admission.
Students can now apply for UG courses even before their results are declared, marking a significant shift in the admission process. The Higher Education Department has assured that seat allotment will be based on the opted major in single-major courses, major-1 in double majors, or general in three minors.
