As Odisha prepares for the Car Festival 2025 in Puri, the Health and Family Welfare Department is ensuring comprehensive medical readiness.
In a high-level meeting held at Lokseba Bhawan, Secretary Ms Aswathy S. reviewed the healthcare arrangements and directed officials to provide seamless services for sevayats, pilgrims, tourists, and the general public from Nabajauban Darshan (June 26) to Niladribije (July 8).
The meeting focused on hospital preparedness, ambulance services, First Aid Centres (FACs), food safety measures, and outbreak prevention. Secretary Ms Aswathy S. assured that funds would be allocated to expand facilities, add more hospital beds, and maintain clinical equipment.
Key decisions included reserving beds across major hospitals, setting up 33 FACs across strategic locations, deploying 31 ambulances, and ensuring an adequate stock of blood units for emergencies. Additionally, Rapid Response Teams and 24×7 health control rooms will be in place. Food safety teams will oversee hygiene measures to protect festival attendees.
Officials from various health departments participated in the deliberations, ensuring a collective effort to safeguard public health during the festival.
