Cuttack hosted a momentous event as the National Cadet Corps (NCC) celebrated its 76th Foundation Day, marked by the culmination of a 23-day cyclothon that covered an impressive 850 km across 15 districts.
His Excellency Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Odisha, praised the cadets for their dedication to spreading awareness on critical issues such as health, education, women empowerment, environmental protection, drug abuse, cyber security, and more.
The Governor expressed pride in the contribution of Odisha’s youth to the state’s development, emphasizing the role of NCC cadets as disciplined, visionary leaders. Twenty-one cadets who participated in the cyclothon were honored for their efforts, with Major Ashutosh Tripathy presenting a flag to the Governor as a symbol of commitment.
Group Commander Colonel Satyabrata Swain applauded the collaboration of the Commerce and Transport Department and the Odisha Youth Training Institute in making the campaign a success. The event also included the inauguration of a newly constructed NCC Headquarters building and a visit to the expanded NCC canteen.
This celebration underscored NCC’s pivotal role in fostering leadership, responsibility, and awareness among the youth, ensuring their contributions in the state’s growth remain transformative.
