In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Odisha government has ordered the transfer of 44 Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officers at the junior level, aiming to streamline operations in key departments.
Notifications issued separately by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department and the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department detail the postings, which include roles such as Tehsildars, Deputy Collectors, Block Development Officers (BDOs), and other administrative positions across various districts and blocks.
According to the Revenue Department’s order, 38 OAS (Junior Branch) officers have been reassigned to districts statewide. Notable transfers include Niroj Kumar Bhatra to Deputy Collector, Baudh; Akash Ranjan Sahu to BDO in the Panchayati Raj Department; Tikunu Puta to Tehsildar, Loisingha; Tilottama Prusti to BDO in Jajpur’s Panchayati Raj Department; Harpriya Prusti to DS&AO, Jajpur; and Pritiparna Mishra to Under Secretary in the Revenue Department.
Additional key postings from the Revenue notification encompass Meenakhi Das as Tehsildar, Baranga; Tusar Jyoti Ranjan as Tehsildar, Kendrapara; Pritibala Rana as BDO; Chandradip Behera as Tehsildar, Betanati; Sushree Pradhan as Tehsildar, Panposh; and Sarat Kumar Bag as BDO in the Panchayati Raj Department, relieving him from his previous role as Special Executive Officer at Rengali Irrigation Project.
The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department’s notification covers the transfer of six OAS officers to BDO positions in various blocks. Highlights include Jayajagat Sahu, previously Deputy General Manager at Bhubaneswar OSDMA, now posted as BDO, Belaguntha Block, Ganjam district; Sarthak Saurabh Mahapatra to BDO, Remuna; Subhankari Sudeshna Das to BDO, Derabish; Bibekananda Mishra to BDO, Chikiti Block; Namita Barik to BDO, G. Udayagiri Block; and Sarat Chandra Mallik to BDO, Dasapalla Block.
This large-scale transfer is expected to inject fresh energy into district-level administration, particularly in revenue collection, disaster management, rural development, and water resource handling.
